The German automaker says the recall involves the 2006 3 Series, the 2004-2006 5 Series, and the 2004-2006 X3 compact sport utility vehicle.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in a posting on its Web site Wednesday that small cracks could develop in a seat detection mat and lead to the front passenger air bags to be deactivated.
It would also turn on the passenger air bag "on-off" light. NHTSA (NIT'sa) says the head protection system would not be affected.
The company said last month there had been no injuries or accidents tied to the problem.
Description: BMW is recalling 200,000 model year 2006 3 series Sport Seat, model year 2004-2006 5 series Standard and Sport Seat, and X3 passenger vehicles. Depending on the manner and frequency of the front passenger's entry and exit, small cracks have developed in the mat. If this occurs, the front passenger air bags, with the exception of the head protection system, will be deactivated and the air bag warning lamp as well as the passenger air bag "on-off" lamp will be illuminated.
BMW is extending the warranty to 10 years from first registration without any mileage limit to the following vehicles: model year 2006 6-series, 3-series (standard seat), model year 2004-2005 Z4, model year 2004-2006 7-series, model year 2006 X5, and model year 2004-2006 5-series (comfort seat). Under the extended warranty program, the occupant detection mat in a vehicle that experiences this specific issue will be replaced at no charge to the customer.
"Solution: Dealers will rework the front passenger seat sensor mat so that external force application to the seat does not cause a crack to the mat. The recall is expected to begin during late September 2008. BMW will also extend the warranty on these vehicles to 10 years from first registration without any mileage limit.

Dečka stojí kolem 2 litrů, ale dražší je tam práce. Je to práce, kterou nesnášim. Rozčalounit, neušpinit, nepotrhat a zase složit. Fuj. Narvi tam ten odpor a odjezd. pokud to někam smahneš, tak Tě jeden vyplasklej pytel navíc už trápit nebude.
Tušim, že tam musí bejt eště dioda, ale to bych kecal. Ty dečky mam někde zahozený v koutě asi 3. A možná přibude další

Tak na mě teda s tim taky mysli, budou teda až po novym roce? Heleď můžu se domluvit s tim jednim kámošem, a ze starejch sedáků bych mohl dodat od něj nějaký ty konektory.Horys píše:Do pátku budu mít 2 kusy ale s dalšíma je to horší ty konektory bere stěch vadných deček.tak jak nějaký splaší tak budou dalši.

ma nekdo definitivni reseni toho bagu? taky sviti kontrolka bagu a hlasi mi chybu v senzoru sedacky spolujezdce. kdyz se nekde vysekam, radeji at to vystrili vsechno zbytecne, nez vubec :-/
resil se tady kontakt v konektoru, ale ten je prostrikanej durch kontoxem a nic. po vymazani se chyba objevi znovu.

to mi připomina jako oil reseter za litra (asi nejdražši kus dratu v pixle ). tak tohle je zase nejdražší odpor v pixle
