Zkouseli jste nekdo nahradit AFM na m30 (kovovy dvirka) treba tou ze 750i (zhaveny dratek)? Videl jsem prodavat takove kity primo na e34, ale neni to uplne levny (300-400 dolaru), podle me by mohla jit pouzit ta ze 750i. Proc to pisu. Na forech lidi celkem pisou, ze se to znatelne projevuje na vykonu moturu.

Nepouziva zadny piggytail pro konverzi signalu, ale rovnou upravi ecu tak, aby umela cist hodnoty z noveho senzoru. Coz je daleleko lepsi reseni, ale ma samozrejme nevyhody, pokud mame uz modifikovany chip.

Here are some pictures of the final result. Please excuse the horrible engine grime on the valve cover, that's one of my winter break projects. So far, on I-85, I've noticed an increase of 2 to 3 mpg. Usually, resetting the OBC just as I merge onto the highway will get me around 23 mpg. Today it was up around 26. The best I got with the EAT chip was right after I bought the car and drove from Charlotte, NC to Washington D.C., which was 26.4 mpg. Long term cruising has yet to be determined.

The power seems to pick up around 2000 rpm as opposed to 3000 rpm with the AFM. It sounds appreciably louder as the revs too, really lets the air flow into the big six.
The guy who helped me install it was also my buddy who gave it a test drive before I bought it and I let him drive it after the install as well. He said there is definitely a difference in it. Judging by the butt-dyno, I have to agree completely.
I would say that I'm satisfied so far, I've noticed that I really don't have to rev it into the upper RPMs to get the punch of acceleration. I'll have to pay closer attention and see what kind of power the engine puts out as it gets closer to red-line.
As far as reinstallation of the AFM... I think it might be out of the question. The previous AFM harness had to be spliced. These pin numbers might be wrong off the top of my head, but you need to splice the #12 pin wire into the #37 pin so the MAF can get a 12 volt signal. I'll take some pictures of this soon, if needed/wanted.
Included in the instructions is to make sure that pin #37 is properly grounded to insure smooth acceleration at WOT. The one or two times I cold started and gave it some throttle, it seemed to jerk a bit under acceleration. However, I think this is normal and as soon as it gets to operating temperature, it's great.
Takze prinos? Zrejme nizsi spotreba (dle tohoto chlapka cca 1,2/100). Kazdy kdo si to namontoval, tak rika, ze motor tahne od daleko nizsich otacek, a je tam i mnohem rychlejsi reakce na plyn (ty klasicky dvirka maji lag). Par lidi to merilo na brzde, je tam narust nejakych koni a pry docela dost kroutaku v nizsich otackach, pry i 8-10%. Coz je treba u 535i dost. Cemuz otazka, zda verit.
Kazdopadne afaik od urciteho roku maji BMW motory zhavenou vahu vzduchu uz vsechny, ma to i m5 m34, tam pouzili tu ze 750i.
Docela si rikam, ze pokud nekomu odesla vaha vzduchu, tak tohle je rozhodne zajimave reseni, protoze nic se tim skazit neda a spis to bude mit i vyhody. Jediny problem je cena, od Millera vcetne postovneho sem cca $500. Kazdopadne to v podstate vychazi jen o neco draze, nez bezny chiptunning a podle reakci lidi je to rozhodne lepsi.
Tuhle hracku dela vice firem, pouzivaji MAF z jineho auta + modifikace a pak bud nejaky "piggy tail" aby to zkonvertovalo signal tak, aby to jednotka pochopila (je jasny, ze ecu s timhle zachazet neumi), nebo rovnou daji novy chip do ecu (Miller). Co jsem si psal s chlapkem z Millerperformance, tak mi odpovedel, ze pokud uz mame nejake vlastni modifikace chipu (chiptuning kvuli ostrejsi vacce a pod), neni problem, aby ti je dali i do chipu, ktery poslou s mafem, je to jen otazka dohody.

m30 má právě tu váhu vzduchu která působí dost restriktivně, a ono ani MAF není až taková výhra ,stále je to restrikce v sání. V zájmu výkonu bych uvažoval o konverzi na MAP což je lepší i z hlediska případného přeplňování. MAP je jen malá krabička spojená s prostorem za klapkou slabou hadičkou, a snímá tlak či podtlak v sání. Běžně se používá jednotka MAP-ECU která konvertuje signál z MAP snímače na signál který je schopna pochopit stávající ECU. o jedný bych věděl, jestli ji už neprodal teda a mám pocit že za ní chtěl pod 8tis kč.
